What a Janam Kundli actually is
A Janam Kundli (जन्म कुंडली) is a picture of the sky at the moment and place you were born. Vedic readers usually draw it as a North or South Indian sheet: Lagna in the first house, then the other eleven bhavas walking around the square. The Sun, Moon, and grahas sit in signs. The Moon also sits in a nakshatra.
Families ask for a Kundli before a naming, a match, or a hard year. The useful part is language — “this house is loud,” “this dasha is a work season.” The unhelpful part is treating the paper as a verdict on health, money, or whether someone is allowed to marry.

Ninth is dharma, teachers, long travel. Tenth is visible work. Eleventh is friends and gains. Twelfth is rest, loss, and the rooms you keep private.
Why birth time changes the story
The Moon moves slowly enough that a wrong hour still leaves you in the same rashi quite often. Lagna does not. A two-hour error can flip the rising sign and drag every house with it. That is why hospital cards and old diaries matter, and why “I think it was evening” should be said out loud.
If the time is lost, a consult in the app can still talk Moon, nakshatra, and the grahas you are sure of. Treat Lagna as a sketch until you find a better clock.
